The exhibit POETRY and its ARTS: Bay Area interactions 1954-2004 will occupy the galleries at California Historical Society in San Francisco's museum district for 17 weeks, from December 11, 2004 to April 16, 2005. Curated by Poetry Center director Steve Dickison, POETRY and its ARTS will focus on three primary areas: (1) art made by poets; (2) poet-artist collaborations; and (3) work by artists in poets' circles. A broad spectrum of original art-works -- many on view to the public for the first time -- will be presented, along with several live programs to take place within the gallery space. The common element of all of the works selected for the show is that they relate to Bay Area literary activities over the past half century. Further information to be announced.
