Bar Time
I have been at this bar
so long,
you ask if I am hanging out
or just on,
so I pull you up a chair
and you see that it’s the latter.
I stink bar stink, I say,
I’ve climbed up too many bars
and I’m as high as I'm going to get.
You say you don’t understand, 'Bar Stink,'
having only once wrung wine
from your pretty, white pants.
But I see the intoxication pour
through your story
as you recall the moment spilling,
and I think you’ve seen all the bars
on all the streets
just the same as me and
it doesn’t matter
if your pants are pressed and white
when you’re hanging on the bar.
So don't ask me,
“What is the pinnacle
of all this lifting of glasses
and banging them together?”
The bell is ringing,
bar time is coming.
We need one another,
another one
before bar time comes.
I'm totally there dudes!
